So, what is on your agenda today? I went out on my deck and felt just how cool and damp feeling it is with all that darn fog! Ugh! I decided that if I get out at all I will need to keep warm….Sooo I was thinking snowshoeing? Maybe…anyway, lol. I have been trying the last couple of years to always have snowshoes or my yak trax in the truck or car when we head out driving.
The main reason for this is that I know I have terrible balance and reflexes? I know this from the odd fall and a couple of surprised doctors who could not get my knee to jump when using that little hammer years ago. But that is another story….lol If you are asking what that has to do with anything…it is because I know that unless the conditions are perfect and walking trails are nicely packed…I may need to have one or the other on so I do not slip and fall when walking. Of course my walking sticks and or snowshoe poles help alot also. They are usually a must in my vehicle. I have little attachment things to switch out so they can be used for whatever is needed.
Now today being cool is less appealing to getting out. I get it! It does help to be just out in the yard too sometimes….that fresh air is motivating. I would not recommend heading there even unless you are dressed warmer… Why you ask? Well…if you head out just for a breath of air to see if you are interested in pursuing a walk or whatever and checking it out….It will seem freeking cold. The damp air seeps inside when you are not insulated with an extra layer or two. If you bundle a little then go even out on the steps you will see that it is not all that cold, temperature-wise and it may seem more like a good idea. Just a thought. Not saying a cozy hot chocolate indoors day is bad….just good to change it up…I will see if I put on my snowshoes again when I get out and about…gotta go get a sweater this time and scarf and check!!! Hope I put them on the right feet!!! Maybe I will see you out and about on the trails! I know it will help me not feel so cranky because of lack of time in the sun…this time of year is tougher…I know. I grew up for a number of years in Arizona and do miss that daily sunshine!! I would not trade our beautiful valley for it though! We are so lucky to live here! I think Candle Creek trails are a perfect place to spend the day! So we are all aware there were some fair sized animal tracks found up there only a couple of days ago. You can see pics of them on the events page….Take precautions or find other trails such as the Shaden/Spahats one….or Majerus Farm…You can always check out norththompson.ca or wellsgray.ca ……Be smart and stay safe, y’all!
