I have hung up my red dress to support and honour the walk today for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women!!It is a day to hope for change and awareness! The event in Clearwater is beginning at the Info Centre and heading down to the DLCC office at 3pm. More info if needed is on the community events page!
Cinco de Mayo for some is also a day to celebrate the 1862 victory of the Mexican people over the French Republic that tried to rule them. Many people choose to go with tequila and or tacos….
Both events have meaning behind them and I wish you all a special day of remembrance!
A third event is also happening in Clearwater today! It is the annual Garden Party hosted by the Dr Helmcken hospital Auxilliary! It is the main fundraiser that they host each year to help raise funds for hospital equipment! You have probably heard of the many donations they have given to buy some of the much needed equipment that we would otherwise not have access to in this area! Let’s head on down and help them out! C’ya there!
