So, the story unfolds…Miss Ess decided to see what else David had to say on the matter at hand…He said that he wanted to continue with his background for the moment. The main people he thought may be involved to start with were…His uncle Alfred Sylvester Sealift. He was mostly the head of the main part of the organization. Next was Percival Andrew Ignatious Nathaniel Sealift, his cousin, Then, there was Beaumont Ulyses Theodore Tyrone Sealift. He was the younger brother of Percival. They were the related members of the family that were involved in the day to day running of the empire. The Boys were both managers of smaller branches of the business in some of the ports in lesser major cities. However, each had to look after at least two offices and control large holdings on their own.
Since David was just becoming soon of age, they would have to give up a large portion of their individual businesses to him. It had been only theirs to oversee while he was a child. He would in fact become the main head of the entire conglomerate in a matter of days. He wanted Miss Ess to know all of the names of this bunch in case one of them was using a partial version of any of them for nefarious purposes.
Humphry was naturally taking copious notes to get all of this down while David was in a talkative mood. Some clients clammed up after the first day. David continued….. “I know for a fact that, technically there has been nothing found on my family so far to bring any charges.” There had been a few who unsuccessfully tried. It seems that evidence somehow managed to disappear, and anyone who goes against them seems to either magically come around on to their way of thinking on every shipping matter involved, or go on either a long holiday, occasionally having an accident befalling either them or a family member. There was an occasion or two when they just moved out of the country and were never heard from. He said, “I cannot prove a single thing either. I just know that there seems to be way more income involved in each of the areas that the heads of the group manage, than all of the other areas that are contracted out put together.” It seems to add up he admitted but said that there was no real proof since he was unable to dig deep enough to get anything. But he vowed to change that.
I will be taking over in a few days and they have all been trying to talk me out of it. They think that because I have been busy with environmental causes that they will keep me busy enough to miss what is really going on.” “I have had a few ‘accidents lately, as well.” He said that there was nothing proveable, but with more close calls in this one month in the last five years he was getting suspicious. He sighed and looked up with a pleading expression and asked Miss Ess if she would help him figure all this crap out. “You’re my only hope,” he said.
